New month, new books! Find out what will be out in stores this April.
Release Date: April 5 2016
Flamecaster (Shattered Realms #1) by Cinda Williams Chima | GOODREADS PAGE
Stand-alone or series: the first book in a series.
Category | Genre: Young Adult | High Fantasy
I have yet to read any book from Cinda Williams Chima, but I kept hearing how good they are. This book is set in the Seven Realms world, a generation later so if you’re a fan of this book – or Chima – you might want to get this book.
Tell the Wind and Fire by Sarah Rees Brennan | GOODREADS PAGE
Stand-alone or series: stand-alone
Category | Genre: Young Adult | Urban Fantasy, Retellings
If you’ve been following this blog for some time, you might have realize that one of my favorite book ever is The Demon’s Lexicon by Sarah Rees Brennan. Now, Sarah is back with her retelling of A Tale of Two Cities, sets in alternate New York City. I have actually read this book (surprising got approved for an ARC on netgalley) so stay tuned for my review. Either way, I’m pretty sure this book is worth buying for the gorgeous cover alone.
Release Date: April 12 2016
Lady Renegades (Rebel Belle #3) by Rachel Hawkins | GOODREADS PAGE
Stand-alone or series: the last book in the series
Category | Genre: Young Adult | Fantasy, Paranormal, Humor
Upon browsing FictFact, I realized that I haven’t read the second book in the Rebel Belle series *facepalm* I think it’s as good time as any to continue reading this series, yes? To be honest, I was quite obsessed with Hawkins’ Hex Hall series, but Rebel Belle didn’t evoke the same kind of obsession. However, if you want a funny, entertaining read of paranormal fantasy sprinkled with romance, you could always depend on Rachel Hawkins.
The Glittering Court (The Glittering Court #1) by Richelle Mead | GOODREADS PAGE
Stand-alone or series: the first book in The Glittering Court series
Category | Genre: Young Adult | Fantasy, Paranormal, Historical (?)
Richelle Mead is one prolific author, for sure. After releasing a standalone, Soundless, last November, Mead returns to series with The Glittering Court. The summary promises The Selection meets Reign (which I believe is a historical TV series-correct me if I’m wrong). I’m always up for a good historical read, so I might give this book a chance.
Release Date: April 26 2016
The Raven King (#4 in Raven Cycle) by Maggie Stiefvater | GOODREADS PAGE
Stand-alone or series: The final installment in the Raven Cycle
Category | Genre: Young Adult | Fantasy, Paranormal
Many people have been freaking out about this book. Me? I plan to read the whole series after the fourth book is out so I could binge-read them. I hope this book turns out well for the sake of the fans!
The Rose and the Dagger (The Wrath and the Dawn #2) by Renee Ahdieh | GOODREADS PAGE
Stand-alone or series: the second book in the series
Category | Genre: Young Adult | Fantasy, Retellings
I now own the first book and I’ll be reading it next month in anticipation of The Rose and the Dagger. I am excited for this book, although I cannot tell you what it is about since I didn’t read the synopsis (avoiding spoilers for the first book). I’m quite sure it’s a continuation of the 1001 nights retelling in the first book, but never mind that, it might be a retelling of Ultraman and I’ll still be reading that.
Are you ready for this book?
Let me know, which books are your most anticipated releases for April?
